Apple event 2021: 5G iPads with better screen, services upgrade likely

  Apple is all set for its first event of the year on April 20 and media reports suggest that new iPads with 5G support and Apple TV upgrades along with a deep dive into iOS 14.5 are on the anvil. Called 'Spring Loaded,' the Apple event will showcase some exciting new products and features. According to The Verge, new iPad Pros will reportedly get a 5G support, speed boost with a new chip similar to Apple's M1, a Thunderbolt port for faster transfers and compatibility with more devices, and support for 5G. "The larger 12.9-inch Pro may also be the first Apple device to feature a Mini LED display," the report said on Thursday. Apple unveils 2020-edition of iPad Pro and MacBook Air: Price, specs, more

Apple on Wednesday launched the iPad Pro with breakthrough LiDAR Scanner and new Magic Keyboard with Trackpad, along with a new 13-inch MacBook Air that now comes with twice the storage compared to predecessor. Price of the Apple MacBook Air 2020 starts at Rs 92,990 for the base variant with 256GB solid state drive (SSD) storage. The 11-inch iPad Pro (Wi-Fi model) starts at Rs 71,900, and the Wi-Fi+Cellular model starts at Rs 85,900. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro starts at Rs 89,900 for the Wi-Fi model and Rs 103,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The availability for the India market will be announced at a later date, said the company. Apple iPad Pro to come with rare 3D-sensing camera module in 2020

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that the iPhone maker is expected to release new iPad Pro models with rear 3D sensing in the first half of 2020. Kuo in a research note with TF International Securities said the iPad Pro models will gain 3D sensing through the rear-facing camera system, MacRumors reported on Wednesday. As per report, Apple is expected to use a time-of-flight system, which measures the time that it takes for light to bounce off of objects in a room to generate a 3D map. Additionally, Kuo also reiterated that Apple plans to release its low-cost iPhone " SE 2" in the first half of 2020 too. The iPhone SE 2 will use a 10-layer Substrate-like PCB (SLP) for its motherboard, the same technology used by the iPhone 11's version. Kuo expects the device to look similar to the iPhone 8 and believes it will be a popular upgrade option for existing iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S owners. Read More

These include the advanced facial recognition and gesture-controlled user interface. The next-generation iPad Pro models are also reported to have trimmed-down dimensions when compared with the current-generation models, according to a report on the Japanese technology portal Macotakara. The iPad Pro 2018 models are reported to come in 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch screen formats with edge-to-edge screen. Both the models would feature Apple’s advanced facial recognition biometric set-up, which uses an infrared camera, dot projector, flood illuminator, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and front camera to 3D-map the user's face.
