Samsung to launch Galaxy Z Fold3, Z Flip3 smartphone on August 11: Report

  South Korean tech giant is all set to launch its upcoming smartphone -- Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 -- on August 11, media report says. The new report claims that at the next Samsung Unpacked event the company will unveil the new smartphones along with a watch. The event will start at 10 a.m. ET and will be streamed on YouTube. Notably, Samsung has not publicly confirmed these details just yet, citing DigitalDailyNews, 9To5Google reported. A recent report said that the Galaxy Z Fold3 will feature an under-display camera and support the S-Pen stylus. Its next clamshell foldable Galaxy Z Flip3 is expected to have a bigger outer display.   Samsung is reportedly planning to launch three foldable smartphones in the market next year, including Galaxy Z Fold 3 , Galaxy Z Flip 3 , and an affordable model which could be named Galaxy Z Flip Lite . To keep the phone's price low, the company has decided to make this affordable mode an LTE-only smartphone, which means it won't have support for the latest 5G communication technology, reports news portal Gizbot. A new Samsung foldable smartphone with the model number SM-F720F was spotted and is expected to draw power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, which is the currently available 4G chipset. Samsung launching Galaxy Z Fold 3 with S Pen, Note to discontinuec

  Samsung will launch a new foldable phone called Galaxy Z Fold 3 with the S Pen support in June next year and the South Korean giant may discontinue the Galaxy Note lineup, the media reported on Monday. According to a report in the South Korean publication Aju News, Samsung Electronics has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 foldable phone will arrive in June 2021. The report claimed that Samsung will discontinue the Galaxy Note series next year. "The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is developed as a premium smartphone that combines the latest technologies from Samsung Electronics, such as S Pen (electronic pen) and UDC (Under Display Camera)".   South Korean electronics maker Samsung has announced to roll out three-generation of Android operating system upgrades for its Galaxy devices, including smartphones, foldable screen devices and tablets. Usually, only select original equipment manufacturers on Android One platform deliver three-generation of Android OS upgrades, while most smartphone brands stick to two-year of OS upgrades and three-year of security upgrades from Google. Before the announcement, Samsung also promised to service its Galaxy devices with Android updates for a maximum period of two years. However, the select Galaxy devices will now get up to three-generation of Android OS upgrades from Samsung. Samsung on Thursday revised the price of its clamshell design-based foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip . The bendable screen smartphone gets a price cut of Rs 7,000, bringing down its retail price to Rs 1,08,999. Moreover, the company is offering upgrade bonus of Rs 8,000 on exchange of select smartphones for the Galaxy Z Flip that brings down the effective cost of ownership to Rs 1,00,999. Additionally, the company is offering no interest equated instalment of up to 18 months. Launched earlier this year, the Galaxy Z Flip is second foldable smartphone from Samsung. It features Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ system-on-chip, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Fold 2 later this year and the device may come in martian green as well as astro blue colour variants, ditching the S-Pen this time. The phone will have a slightly bigger screen but will keep the form factor of the original Galaxy Fold, reports GSMArena. The company is reportedly planning to start manufacturing components in May, and is looking at starting mass-producing the device in June/July. It is expected to hit the market in Q3 2020, and may be launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 in August. Samsung brought its second foldable phone Galaxy Z Flip in India. The pre-orders started today and the deliveries will begin from February 26, 2020. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is priced at Rs 109,999. The phone features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 22:9:9 aspect ratio, 425 ppi, and 1080 x 2636 pixels resolution. It also has a secondary 1.1-inch Super AMOLED screen positioned on the back cover that displays notifications. The phone is covered with Gorilla Glass 6 on the outside as well as the inside. The Galaxy Z Flip is also the first foldable smartphone to use ultra-thin glass to cover the display rather than the plastic. The smartphone has a Flex Mode that lets you use two apps in split-screen mode. It is powered by a Snapdragon 855+ SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung on Tuesday launched its first foldable device, the Galaxy Fold , in India, at Rs 1,64,999. With this launch, the company became the first smartphone brand in the country to foray into the new product category of bendable screen devices. The device, a foldable smartphone, comes with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. Its pre-orders will start from October 4, and the deliveries for pre-orders from October 20. The Galaxy Fold pre-orders could be done on the Samsung online store, Samsung shop, and select retail outlets, including the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru.
