Deepika Padukone on Wednesday shared her much-awaited first look from the upcoming sports-drama ' 83 ' as Romi Dev, wife of cricket stalwart Kapil Dev. The actor also penned a message expressing gratitude for the iconic role. The 'Chhapaak' actor shared the still on Twitter along with a caption that reads, "To play a small part in a film that captures one of the most iconic moments in sporting history has been an absolute honour!83 for me is an ode to every woman who puts her husband's dream before her own..." In the absorbing first look, Deepika is seen sharing a smile along with Ranveer Singh, she is also seen sporting short hair. Rajinikanth starrer 'Darbar' slated for Pongal release, first look unveiled

The first look of superstar Rajinikanth's next film titled ' Darbar ' was released Tuesday, with the poster indicating that the AR Murugadoss directed flick could be a cop film. The poster carried a catchy punchline "you decide whether you want me to be good, bad or worse," and was splashed with paraphernalia attached to the police, including an IPS shoulder pin, a handcuff, a couple of guns and a police dog. Besides, it features a spectacled and bearded Rajinikanth. The first look also carried what seemed to be the Gateway of India in Mumbai, hinting that the story might be based in the western metropolis. First weekend report: 'Romeo Akbar Walter' earns Rs. 22.70 crore

Bollywood powerhouse John Abraham's latest film ' Romeo Akbar Walter ', which is inspired by a true story in 1971, had an ordinary first weekend. The film has collected Rs. 22.70 crore so far. Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest box office figures of the film on his Twitter handle. He wrote, "#RomeoAkbarWalter Fri 6 cr, Sat 7.70 cr, Sun 9 cr. Total: Rs 22.70 cr. India biz. #RAW." The film did not have a very impressive start at the box office. According to Taran, the film minted Rs. 6 crores on its opening day. It saw a slight increase on Saturday with earnings of Rs 7.70 crore and earned Rs. 9 crores on Sunday. According to Box Office India, the film has fared best in Mumbai collecting almost 8 crore nett from the circuit. A film on menstruation, set in rural India, titled Period . End of Sentence, has won the Oscar in the Documentary Short Subject category at the 91st Academy Awards. Award-winning filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi has directed the short film, which has been produced by Indian producer Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment. The film came to into being as a part of The Pad Project, started by students at the Oakwood School in Los Angeles and their teacher, Melissa Berton. I'm not crying because I'm on my period or anything. I can't believe a film on menstruation won an Oscar, Zehtabchi said in her acceptance speech. She also gave a nod to Monga.
