The phone is going to be the company’s first offering to feature an elevating selfie camera module in the country. SC seeks to know why Unnao rape victim's letter to CJI didn't reach him

The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought a report from its secretary general as to why a letter written by the Unnao rape victim to Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, apprehending threat to her life, was not placed before him. "Unfortunately, the letter is yet to see the light of the day and yet the newspapers flashed it as if I have read the letter," Justice Gogoi said. The observations came when senior lawyer V Giri, who is assisting the court as an amicus curiae in child rape cases, sought urgent listing of the Unnao rape case. The court also asked the Uttar Pradesh authorities to file a status report by Thursday on the accident of the Unnao rape case victim. The 19-year-old woman, who was allegedly raped two years ago by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar at his residence in Unnao, was critically injured in a car crash on Sunday. Food delivery company Zomato is winning the internet after it refused on Wednesday to resolve a customer's complaint about being assigned a Muslim delivery executive for his food order. "Food doesn't have a religion. It is a religion," the company tweeted in response to the customer's request for change of the rider. On Tuesday night, a man tweeted about cancelling his order placed on Zomato as the designated rider was a "non-Hindu". "Just cancelled an order on @ZomatoIN they allocated a non hindu rider for my food they said they can't change rider and can't refund on cancellation I said you can't force me to take a delivery I don't want don't refund just cancel," Amit Shukla, a resident of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, tweeted. The body of Cafe Coffee Day founder V G Siddhartha , who had gone missing, was found on Wednesday in the Netravati river in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka after 36 hours of intense search, officials said. Two days prior to his disappearance, the coffee baron had left behind a note to his employees that revealed he was in deep debt. The body of Cafe Coffee Day founder V G Siddhartha has been found from the Nethravathi river, according to TV reports on Wednesday. Siddhartha's body was found on the banks of the river near the Hoige Bazaar in Mangaluru, according to news agency ANI. Siddhartha, the founder of India’s largest coffee chain, went missing on Monday night en route to the coastal Karnataka city of Mangaluru, with a letter purportedly written by him showing he was under "tremendous pressure" from lenders and one of the private equity partners (PEs). The letter also alleged "a lot of harassment" from tax authorities. Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) founder and former Karnataka Chief Minister, SM Krishna's son-in-law, V G Siddhartha , is suspected to have jumped off a bridge in Mangaluru on Monday night, the Times of India reported on Tuesday. According to the report, the news emerged after the Mangaluru City Police started a search for a person who had jumped off the kilometre-long Ullal bridge on Monday night. The report said that one of the police officers confirmed that a person was suspected to have jumped off the Ullal bridge, which is built across the River Nethravathi, at 9pm. A search operation is now underway while his mobile phone is reported to be switched off. PNB reports profit of Rs 1,019 crore for June quarter, net NPAs rise QoQ

Punjab National bank (PNB) on Friday reported a profit of Rs 1,018.63 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2019 (Q1FY20) against loss of Rs 940 crore registered in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Provisions and contingencies stood at Rs 2,023.31 crore, down 64.8 per cent against 5,758.16 crore logged in the year-ago period. Sequentially, the numbers droped 79.9 per cent. In the March quarter, figures stood at Rs 10,071.11 crore. It was a positive surprise from the bank as most analysts had projected loss for the period. For instance, analysts at Edelweiss Securities had forecast the public sector lender to report a loss of Rs 905.8 crore while those at Phillip Capital had estimated NII at Rs 4,316.5 crore, down 8 per cent YoY and a loss of Rs 1,006.9 crore. “ Business momentum is expected to be softer (albeit improving). Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) successfully conducted the second Earth-bound orbit raising maneuver for the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft. Isro officials said that second maneuver has been performed successfully on Friday at 0108 hours (IST) as planned, using the onboard propulsion system for a firing duration of 883 seconds. The orbit achieved was 251 x 54829 km. All spacecraft parameters were normal. The third orbit raising maneuver is scheduled on July 29, 2019, between 1430–1530 hours (IST). India's second mission to the Moon, Chandrayaan-2, is expected to reach the Moon on August 20, 2019. The first earth-bound orbit raising maneuver for Chandrayaan-2 was performed successfully on July 24, 2019, at 1452 hours (IST) as planned. German luxury carmaker BMW on Thursday launched its flagship sports activity vehicle BMW X7 in India priced at Rs 98.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The company also introduced the all new version of its 7 Series sedan with petrol and diesel engines priced in the range of Rs 1.22-1.34 crore. WhatsApp Global Head Will Cathcart on Wednesday said the company could roll out its payments service to users across India later this year. The messaging app , which has about 400 million users in India, has been testing its payments in the country since last year with about a million users. Cathcart said the company's vision is to make sending money as easy as sending a message on the platform.
