Nepal removes quarantine provisions for tourists vaccinated for Covid-19

  Nepal on Thursday enforced new travel rules removing the quarantine requirements for foreign tourists who have got both doses of Covid-19 vaccine , in an attempt to give a boost to pandemic-depressed travel and tourism business in the country. According to new travel protocols, posted on the website of the Tourism Ministry on Thursday evening, vaccinated tourists entering the Himalayan Nation have to submit a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test report form within 72 hours prior to departure from the country of origin along with documents proving administration of both doses of anti-coronavirus vaccines has also been made mandatory for those flying by air. After they arrive in Nepal, they have to conduct another PCR test at their own cost and stay at the isolation in the hotel until the report is out. Unlock 4: Boating resumes in Nainital, tourism getting back on track

  With the resumption of boating in the lakes of Sarovar Nagri here, the tourism industry in Nainital has begun to come back to life yet again after nearly four months of the nationwide coronavirus lockdown . According to Vikram Singh Bhisht, Boat Operators Committee manager, the boating industry faced huge losses as the lockdown was implemented at the peak of the district's tourism season. "Unfortunately, the lockdown extended throughout the months of May and June which is when we receive the highest number of tourists. We had to close down all tourist activities and boaters faced tremendous financial hardships. Many turned to sell fruits and local construction work to support their families," Bhisht told ANI. He added, "Although Unlock 4 is now in place, we do not expect a huge footfall as people are still afraid of the virus. We hope to make a slight recovery in October." Read More
