Sony PlayStation 5 review: A gorgeous portal to the next-gen gaming

Image
The PlayStation 5 isn't simply the latest iteration of the Japanese company Sony's highly successful series of gaming consoles, but a genuine leap in terms of possibilities in gaming. With its haptic feedback and trigger resistance, DualSense is more than just an accessory to the PS5, and in fact becomes an integral part of the immersive and realistic gaming experience that lets you 'feel' the game.   Microsoft will not love this news but developers have emulated old Sony PlayStation games onto the new Microsoft Xbox Series X and S gaming consoles . Using a technology called RetroArch emulator, developers worked on the "Developer Mode" in Xbox Series X/S gaming consoles which can help add the emulation software as a Universal Windows Application (UWA). It allows users to download a retail version of the emulation software directly to their gaming console, reports The Verge. Microsoft doesn't officially support this kind of emulation and PCSX2 support is still in progress. To add RetroArch to Xbox using Developer Mod, one needs to pay a $19 registration fee to be part of Microsoft's Developer programme. 2018 was a huge year in gaming with bumper revenues, re-imagined classics

Image
2018 has been a big year for video games – and not just because of the games that were released. We’ve seen broken revenue records, burgeoning discussions about the labour that goes into producing games , and a crack-down on predatory practices that squeeze more dollars out of players. Meanwhile, eSports and livestreaming showed bumper growth. Progressively updated games, and the “early access” trend continued to both delight and frustrate. In the games themselves, we got a heavy dose of nostalgia with new twists on the classics. Bumper revenues The “battle royale” game Fortnite was the most outstanding and unexpected success of the year, hitting 78.3 million players in August 2018 and bumping developer Epic Games to a US$15 billion dollar valuation. Cementing the economic scale of video-games, Rockstar Games’s Red Dead Redemption 2 had the second highest opening weekend for any media release ever, grossing US$725 million – and outstripping any of the late...
