Apple is planning to release the iOS 15 operating system in June and now a new report has revealed that it may kill support for older devices like the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s Plus as well as 2016 iPhone SE. According to the report from the French news website iPhoneSoft, Apple's iOS 15 update will seemingly drop support for devices with an A9 chip when it launches later in 2021. iOS 15 will run on the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and all newer iPhones that have been released, making it compatible with devices that have an A10 chip or newer. The seventh-generation iPod touch has an A10 chip, so it should be able to run iOS 15. In addition to the iPhones, iPhoneSoft also says a number of iPads will no longer be supported by iPadOS 15. iPadOS 15 may drop support for the iPad mini 4 (2015), iPad Air 2 (2014), and iPad 5 (2017), equipped with A8, A8X, and A9 chips, respectively. With no signs of the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) abating, US technology major Apple has postponed the launch of the new iPhone model — iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 — by at least a fortnight, sources said. The delay of the SE 2, billed as the cheapest iPhone and tentatively priced below Rs 40,000 in India, puts the brakes on the tech major’s plans for a revival in the second largest smartphone market. Planned in line with its earlier bet for the India market — iPhone SE, launched in 2016 — the SE 2 was positioned as an entry-level phone targeting aspirational buyers. However, with the supply chain at its largest manufacturer Foxconn in disarray, as it is struggling to operate in China because of the COVID-19 crisis, the postponement was inevitable, said experts. The iPhone SE was a 4-inch model priced at Rs 39,000 to lure consumers who were unwilling to shell out Rs 50,000 or more for a premium handset. Coupled with the success of its earlier launches — iPhone 6 and 6S — App...
