UPSC notification 2020: The Union Public Service Commission has released the notification for the Civil Services Examination (CSE). Candidates can apply for UPSC CSE 2020 from today and the application process will conclude on March 3, 2020, through the official websites, upsc.gov.in, upsconline.nic.in. The application process for the Indian Forest Services (IFSC) will also be held on the same date. The applicants will have a total of six attempts at the examination. Draft CSAT paper in Hindi, then translate it to English: RSS to UPSC

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh wants the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to draft the question papers for the civil services examination in Hindi, and then translate them into other regional languages and English. The RSS-linked Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) committee is of the view that when the question paper is set in English and translated into vernacular languages, the essence of the question is lost in translation. This puts students taking the exam in Hindi and other languages at a disadvantage. The SSUN has made the suggestion to the Modi government, reported The Print. Devendra Singh, head of the SSUN’s competitive exams reform committee said that almost 50 per cent of the words lose their meaning in translation. He cites the examples of words such as “population”, which is generally “jansankhya” in Hindi but was translated as “samashti” in one question paper. “Data”, which should be “data” in Hindi as well, was translated to “dutt”, he added. “ If...

UPSC said candidates should download their admit cards urgently to avoid last minute rush Education News : Nearly 50 per cent candidates are yet to download admit cards for   civil services   preliminary exam scheduled for June 3, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) said. Those candidates, who have not yet downloaded their e-admit cards, are advised to do so urgently to avoid last minute rush, a statement issued by the UPSC said. The commission conducts the   civil services examination in three stages --  preliminary, main and interview -- to select officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others. As of date, more than 50 per cent candidates have downloaded their e-admit cards from www.upsc.gov.in, it said.
