Covid-19: IIT Delhi start-up develops mask that can be reused upto 50 times

Since the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, several companies have stepped up in producing face masks to prevent the spread of the virus. Among such companies, is Nanosafe Solutions who have developed 'NSafe masks' that can be re-used for upto 50 times. Nanosafe Solutions is a startup of FITT (Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer) at IIT Delhi. "The NSafe mask is 99.2 per cent efficient for bacterial filtration and it complies with ASTM standards for breathability," Dr Anasuya Roy, Founder and CEO of Nanosafe Solutions, told ANI. Read More

GATE 2020: Golden chance for J&K students as IIT-D extends application date

In a relief for Jammu and Kashmir students, the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-Delhi) is reopening the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2020) application process as many were not able to register due to unavailability of internet connectivity. The window for receiving application was open between September 3 and October 5 during which 9,295 candidates from J&K had applied. “As per emails and phone calls received from a few candidates regarding the unavailability of internet connectivity, it seems that a few hundred aspirants of GATE 2020 in J&K might not have been able to apply,” the institute said. Candidates can apply through the official website gate.iitd.ac.in . Students from J&K must apply by November 8. IIT-Delhi is the organising institute for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2020. IITs may allow weaker students to opt out in 3 years with a BSc degree

The country's premier engineering colleges, the Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs), are mulling an early exit option for academically weak students in undergraduate courses who will be allowed to opt out after three years -- instead of the full four years -- with a B.Sc. degree in engineering. According to a report in The Indian Express, the proposal is on the agenda of the IIT council-- the highest decision-making body of all the 23 institutes -- for its meeting on Friday. Currently, students enrolled in undergraduate programmes in IITs need to complete eight semesters (four years) to receive a B.Tech degree. But according to the HRD proposal, academically weak students can choose B.Sc. (Engineering) after the second semester and leave after three years, provided they have met the minimum academic standards. IIT Delhi extends GATE 2020 registration deadline, apply on gate.iitd.ac.in

GATE 2020: The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi) has extended the deadline for GATE 2020 registration to September 26, 2019. The institute will close the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 application process tomorrow. Candidates who have not applied yet are advised to register for GATE 2020 examination on IIT Delhi official website iitd.ac.in, or appsgate.iitd.ac.in or gate.iitd.ac.in. Earlier, IIT Delhi was going to close the online registration process for GATE 2020 exam without the requirement of the late fee payment on September 24, 2019. Now, the last date to submit the GATE 2020 application form with late fee is October 1, 2019. That means, by paying the late fee, candidates can still apply for GATE 2020 up to October 1.
