Pune: 12-hour night curfew from Apr 3-9; hotels, restaurants to be shut

  To curb the coronavirus surge, a 12-hour night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am will be imposed in Maharashtra's Pune district from tomorrow, said an official on Friday. Situation will be reviewed on next Friday, said Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao while announcing Covid-related restrictions. Bars, hotels, restaurants will remain closed for 7 days and only home delivery will be allowed. No public function, except funerals and weddings, will be allowed. Maximum 20 people in funerals and 50 in weddings. Order to come into effect from tomorrow, said Rao Siddharth Shirole, an MLA from Pune's Shivajinagar constituency, said on Twitter that "Bars, Malls, Cinema Halls, #PMPML Buses, Religious Places, Weekly Vegetable Markets will be closed for next 7 days". Security enhanced at airport as first batch of COVID vaccine reaches Delhi

  Security has been stepped up at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital from where the first consignment of Covishield vaccines from Pune will be transported to different parts of the city on Tuesday, police said. A SpiceJet flight carrying the vaccines landed at the Delhi airport around 10 am on Tuesday, four days ahead of the launch of a nationwide drive against the coronavirus. Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport) Rajeev Ranjan said PCR vans along with local police will escort the vehicles carrying vaccines to its designated places. He said sufficient security arrangements have been put in place to facilitate the transportation of vaccines. Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Manish Agarwal said, "If any schedule and movement of vaccine is shared with us and if facilitation is asked for, we will provide it." Read More

Maharashtra coronavirus update: 369 Covid cases, 32 deaths in Pune district

  Pune district reported 369 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking its tally to 3,20,112 on Monday, a health official said. With 32 fatalities, the death toll in the district reached 7,733, he added. Also, 410 patients were discharged from hospitals," the official said. "Of the 369 cases, 147 were detected in the Pune Municipal Corporation limits, which has recorded 1,59,845 cases so far. "With 124 new cases, the tally in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation areas rose to 86,924," he said. Read More

  As many as 76 deaths and 2,338 fresh coronavirus case s were reported on Monday in Pune along with 3,007 recoveries, informed Dr Bhagawan Pawar, District Health Officer, Zila Parishad, Pune. A total of 76 deaths were reported yesterday, taking the toll to 5,774. According to the District Health Officer, the cumulative total of recovered patients now stands at 2,06,514 and coronavirus positive cases at 2,54,506. Amazon Pantry , the company’s daily essentials store for Prime members, is back online and is accepting orders in a few cities after temporarily shutting down last week due to the lockdown. It is now serviceable in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune for select pincodes. Pantry offers essentials including food, beverages, household supplies, health and beauty products at discounted rates. “We are prioritising deliveries of existing orders. Deliveries of new orders could take 7-10 days,” said the e-commerce company. Amazon Pantry was delivering essentials in over 100 cities across India before suspending services temporarily when the country entered the 21-day lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19.
