Apple TV+ to premiere three planet-related documentaries on Earth Day

  As the world celebrates Earth Day on Thursday, Apple has debuted documentary special "The Year Earth Changed" and second seasons of 'Tiny World and 'Earth at Night in Color on Apple TV+ , thus brining environment-friendly content at one place. These premieres join a specially curated collection of environmentally-themed Apple TV+ programming, including films, series and episodes that celebrate Earth Day's mission, including: Here We Are. Long Way Up, The Elephant Queen and Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds, the company said in a statement. Apple TV app now globally available on latest Google Chromecast device

  Apple TV app is now globally available on the new Google Chromecast device. The new app will allow users to watch original Apple TV+ content, as well as access existing iTunes movie and television show purchases. As per Variety, starting Thursday, users with the USD 50 Chromecast with Google TV adapter will be able to access Apple TV.   In addition, the Apple TV app is available on smart TVs from Sony and TCL that have the Google TV interface and Google said that it will roll out to more Android TV-powered devices in the next few months. The deal between the two tech giants, which compete on multiple fronts, was announced back in December. The Apple TV app provides access to all the Apple TV Plus content. Apple extends TV Plus free trial membership to July amid pandemic

  Apple has yet again extended the free trial membership for the Apple TV+ service to customers till July 2021. With the latest announcement, anybody with an Apple TV+ subscription that was set to expire from now until June will instead expire in July 2021, according to a report in 9to5mac. "This means customers who took advantage of the 'year free' deal back when the service first launched will now be getting an additional 9 months of free access to Apple original shows and movies," the report mentioned on Friday. The first TV+ extension was announced in October and pushed the first wave of free trial renewals out to February. The new extension means that anyone who didn't already cancel their subscription will now be able to use it for free for six additional months, the report said. Read More

Apple planning to launch a podcast subscription service: Report

  Apple is reportedly planning to launch a new subscription service that would be focused on podcasts . The tech giant is currently in talks with production companies about the service which would charge people to listen to podcasts, reports The Information. By charging for individual podcasts, Apple could give creators a new way to make more money, which may convince them to leave rival services The service could be bundled with other services like Apple Music,? Apple TV+?, Apple Arcade, and Apple News+ as part of the Apple One bundles that the company offers. Currently, it is not clear what sort of content would be made available behind the subscription paywall. Spotify is also planning to create a separate service for exclusive podcasts which became popular in the pandemic as people stayed home. Apple TV, other streaming apps arriving on new Xbox consoles on November 10

  Microsoft has announced that Apple TV is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S gaming consoles on November 10. The Apple TV app will give gamers access to thousands of shows and movies from one convenient location, allowing them to enjoy Apple TV+, Apple TV channels, brand-new and popular movies, and personalised entertainment recommendations. One can subscribe to Apple TV+ on the Apple TV app directly from Xbox for $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial starting November 10. Apple TV is also arriving on Sony PlayStation5 on November 12. Best of 2019: Spectre Camera wins Apple's list of top apps of the year

Apple has revealed its " Best of 2019 " apps and games across platforms such as iOS, macOS and tvOS. "Developers around the world inspire us all with innovative apps that have the power to influence culture and change our lives, and this year that is as true as ever. The 2019 App Store Best Apps and Games winners reflect our global desire for connection, creativity and fun," said Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing said in a statement on Monday. The iPhone app of the year went to Lux Optics' Spectre Camera, an AI-powered photography app. Digital notebook app Flow by Moleskine was the top iPad app, while Serif Labs' Affinity Publisher publishing and design app took top honours for Mac. If you have Apple Music student plan, you get free Apple TV+ access

Students with an Apple Music subscription of $4.99 per month, will now be able to enjoy Apple TV+ at no extra cost after its launch on Friday. The deal was revealed in an Instagram story by Hailee Steinfeld, who stars in Dickinson, a new show on the service and later it was confirmed by the Apple on Wednesday, CNET reported. Steinfeld announced the bundle deal by saying that "For those of you who are students and are subscribed to Apple Music student subscription, now can get Apple TV+ for free." Apple Music costs $9.99 per month for individuals and a family plan for $15 per month in the US. The Apple Music student subscription currently is $4.99 per month, which provides full access to Apple Music's catalogue of 50 million songs, live local radio stations and more.
