Realme retains 7th spot in global smartphone market in Q4 2020

  Realme on Monday announced that it has scored the seventh position in the global smartphone market. According to market research firm Counterpoint's global smartphone report for the fourth quarter in 2020, Realme, which grew at 65 per cent Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) and shipped 42 million smartphones last year, was the fastest-growing smartphone brand globally in 2020. "At realme, we follow our philosophy dare to leap into the forefront of innovation, design and product value, which is something that young people can resonate," Madhav Sheth, Vice President, Realme and CEO, Realme India and Europe, said in a statement. The smartphone brand is also set to launch two new devices -- Realme X7 and Realme X7 Pro -- in India in the first week of February. Covid-19: After economic fallout, Apple, Xiaomi show some recovery in China

Apple Inc shipped roughly 2.5 million iPhones to China in March, a slight rebound after one of its worst months in the country ever, according to government data published on Friday. Smartphone companies are hoping for a strong recovery in demand in China, where the deadly coronavirus is now subsiding, just as it spreads across the world and looks set to trigger a global recession. Mobile phone shipments in China in March totalled 21 million units, according to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), a government think-tank. China's OnePlus set to unveil a new logo in black on March 18: Report

Chinese electronics maker OnePlus took to its official Weibo account to tease something new which is coming on March 18 and now CEO Pete Lau has shared that it will be the unveiling of a new brand logo. On the first look, the new logo is almost identical to the original one, but this time the company is changing the brand's colour from Red to Black which is evident from the new logo that now has Black colour, 9To5Google reported on Monday. Also, the typeface for the number "1" has also been changed and now the company is also adding its "OnePlus" branding below the logo. This new logo will be the one OnePlus uses on its 2020 products such as the upcoming OnePlus 8 series.
