The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Friday announced a partnership with Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd to provide customised auto retail financing solutions to retail buyers. The new solution 'Buy-Now-Pay-Later Offer' is aimed to provide customers with easy financing options, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. Under the partnership, the companies are also offering a two-month deferment of Equated Monthly Installment (EMI) to car customers who currently are under resource crunch amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, it added. Maruti launches BS-VI compliant Ignis at starting price of Rs 489,000

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday launched BS-VI compliant version of its premium compact car Ignis priced between Rs 4.89-7.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Ignis is powered by 1.2 litre petrol engine and comes with manual and Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission options, the company said in a statement. "We have recognised an increasing preference for feature loaded cars that have SUV-like high seating position and dominant road presence. We are confident that the all new IGNIS with its SUV design and spacious interiors will appeal to the customers," MSI Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa said. The model comes in four variants with manual transmission option priced in the range of Rs 4.89-6.73 lakh, while the AGS options are tagged between Rs 6.13- 7.19 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi), the company said. Maruti Suzuki launches new variant of Alto, priced at Rs 380,000

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Thursday announced the launch of a new variant of its entry-level small car Alto, priced at Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new variant comes with aero edge design, dual-tone interiors, high-fuel efficiency, and latest safety features. "Maruti Suzuki India Ltd today announced the launch of the new Alto VXI+ which offers SmartPlay Studio a 17.8 cm touchscreen infotainment system, enabled with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto," the country's largest car maker said in a filing to the BSE. The variant comes with BS-VI compliant engine and delivers a high fuel efficiency of 22.05 km/l, it added. Alto VXI+ will be available with enhanced safety features like dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system and seat belt reminder for both driver and co-driver, it said. Mahindra warns of job losses in auto sector, seeks government's help

Automaker Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (M&M) said on Wednesday it saw a "huge danger" of job losses in the ailing domestic auto sector, as it sought government intervention, including tax reductions to revive demand. A lending crisis among the country's shadow banks, which fund nearly 55-60% of commercial vehicles and 30% of passenger cars, has led to automakers, including M&M and its rivals Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Tata Motors Ltd, to either cut production or temporarily close plants. M&M said in a statement it was only able to maintain margins due to falling commodity prices and the government must reduce the goods and services tax (GST) rate to spur demand. A slump in sales is also triggering massive job cuts in the sector that employs 35 million people directly and indirectly. This will take Maruti Suzuki India's total production capacity to over 2.25 million units each year Companies News :   The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) plans to add another 750,000 units manufacturing capacity from three production lines in Gujarat plant by 2020, taking the total capacity to over 2.25 million units a year, a top company official said today. The company, which already has a market share of over 50 per cent in the domestic passenger vehicle segment, is also initiating process to study ways to further expand production capacity beyond 2.25 million units per annum after 2020. The first assembly line of Suzuki-owned Hansalpur (Gujarat) plant has already started rolling out products. It has a production capacity of 250,000 units per annum.
