VIT placement drive 2019: 245 companies recruit 2026 students
Private sector educational institute Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has said that a total of 245 companies have visited its campus in this year's placement season so far and recruited 2026 students. The campus recruitment, for the batch graduating in 2020, started on May 1, 2019 with PG internship placements. A total of 150 companies participated in the internship programme and selected 788 students from M Tech and MCA courses. Major internship recruiters included Amazon, Net App, Intel, VM Ware, Oracle, Philips and Cummins. The selected students have started doing their 10 months internship. They are paid a monthly stipend ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000. After the internship period, most of the students are expected to be absorbed as full time employees with a minimum package of Rs 5 lakh per annum, the institution said. "Dream Companies" are those that offer packages of over Rs 5 lakh, while "Super Dream Companies" offer over Rs 10 lakh.
