Google Pixel 6 to come with an under-display selfie camera: Report

  As a successor to the Pixel 5 , Google is likely to launch its Pixel 6 smartphone next year and now a new patent has claimed that the device will feature an under-screen selfie snapper. The patent doesn't go into any detail as to how that's achieved but, presumably the camera would be underneath the screen, reports Techradar. ZTE has already released a smartphone with an under-display front shooter and Xiaomi and OPPO have exhibited their prototypes. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which will likely arrive in the second half of 2021, is also expected to feature the tech. The patent has revealed other details about the phone, including its basic design and the location of the main camera. The patent shows the primary camera module's design and location will remain unchanged from what was seen on the Pixel 5. As such, the patent suggests the camera module will include two sensors and an LED flash. Read More

Two-day Covid-19 vaccination dry run begins in two Gujarat districts

  A two-day dry run to check the preparedness of health authorities for a future nationwide COVID-19 vaccination programme began on Monday in Rajkot and Gandhinagar districts of Gujarat, officials said. Gujarat is one of the four states chosen by the Centre to conduct the mock COVID-19 vaccination drive. "In Gujarat, the dry run is being carried out in Rajkot district, Rajkot city, Gandhinagar district and Gandhinagar city," State Immunisation Office Dr Nayan Jani told reporters. He said local health officials of these districts and cities will engage in administrative work on the first day of the drive. "The actual field visits will begin on Tuesday," Jani said, adding that actual (potential) vaccine shots will not be administered on people during the dry run. Read More

Huawei's first Kirin-powered laptop's specifications revealed

  Huawei is reportedly working on a flagship laptop, powered by its own Kirin chip and now photo of the upcoming product's shipping box released on the Chinese social media platform Weibo has revealed its important specifications. According to GSMArena, the laptop will be powered by the impressive and powerful Kirin 990 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, and a 14-inch 1080p display, well primed from excellent visuals and speed operations. The laptop itself is named Qingyun L410 and is expected to be a cheaper version of the MateBook 14. There's also the possibility of the device supporting 5G connectivity given that the SoC itself features an integrated 5G modem. This 5G capability is one feature that could stand the device out and enhance Huawei's reputation. The laptop will most certainly hit the Chinese market first before going international. Maharashtra coronavirus update: Registers 3,913 Covid-19 cases, 93 deaths

  As many as 3,913 new coronavirus cases and 93 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Wednesday, according to the State Health Department. With this, the tally of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the state has reached 19,06,371, including 54,573 active cases and 48,969 deaths. Besides, 7,620 people also reportedly recovered on Wednesday in Maharashtra, pushing the total number of recoveries to 18,01,700. Meanwhile, Mumbai recorded 745 new cases, 286 recoveries and 14 deaths due to the novel coronavirus on the same day, as per the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. While 2,68,583 people have recovered from the infection, 11,033 persons have succumbed to the deadly virus in the metropolis. Read More

Covid-19: India records 24,712 new cases, 312 fatalities in 24 hours

  India's COVID-19 caseload rose to 1,01,23,778 with24,712 new infections being reported in a day, while the recoveries surged to 96.93 lakh,accordingto the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday. The death toll increased to 1,46,756 with 312 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed. Thenumber of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 96,93,173 pushing the national recovery rate to95.75 per cent, while theCOVID-19casefatality ratestands at 1.45 per cent. The COVID-19 active caseload remained below 3 lakh for the third consecutive day.
