Ind vs Afg, Day 2: Afghanistan all out for 109, India enforces follow-on
R Ashwin trapped Afghanistan batsmen as he scalped four wickets
Sports
News: In
the historic one-off test match, Afghanistan was bowled out inside a session
for a meagre score of 109 runs as Indian bowlers did not show any leniency to
the inexperienced side.
R
Ashwin shined with the bowl, clinching four wickets, while Ishant Sharma and
Ravindra jadeja picked 2 wickets each.
Afghanistan
succumbed to India's fierce bowling attack and managed to just cross the
100-run mark. Mohammad nabi was the highest scorer for the batting side,
scoring 24 runs, rest, the remaining batsmen fell on a cheap score.
For
a nation playing its inaugural Test, Afghanistan's performance with the ball
was moderately impressive and much goes to the temperament of the entire side.
Rashid
Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman, who have already experienced Indian conditions in
IPL, displayed a decent show while Yamin Ahmadzai remained the most successful
bowler for the side, clinching three wickets for 51 runs in his 19 overs.
Afghanistan
seamers too displayed a decent form and adjusted well to the red ball, along
with the spinners, including Rashid Khan, who struggled initially but then
settled at last.
For
India, banking on Dhawan and Vijay's tons, the inning was smooth, Pandya made a
well-constructed half-century while on the other end, Ashwin and Jadeja, who
was expected to accompany him, couldn't add much. Umesh Yadav scored more run
than the two respectively.
With
Ishant Sharma's fall, the curtains closed on India's inning and all eyes will
be on Afghanistan's batting now as they face Indian seam and spin.
