Ind vs Eng 1st Test Day 3: Bairstow, Malan look to rebuild after early loss

India start the Day 3 of first Test on high as Ashwin gets the wicket of England skipper Root and Jennings in the first hour of play. England lead by 78 runs

Sports News: On Day 3 of the first Test match, Ashwin removed Joe Root and Keaton Jennings early to put England under pressure at Edgbaston in Birmingham today. Indian cricket team kept the momentum in their favour in the first hour of day's play which they had in the final session of Day 2 after taking Cook's wicket at Stumps. Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan were on the crease after the early wickets. For India, Mohammed Shami and R Ashwin started the day with good line and length and both looked threatening on most of the occasions. Ishant Sharma replaced Shami as first change of the day and asked questions with his swing outside the off-stump.
