Mehbooba Mufti, Hasnain Masoodi file nomination from Anantnag seat



PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference candidate Justice (retd) Hasnain Masoodi Wednesday filed nomination papers from Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency in Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP candidate for the south Kashmir seat Sofi Mohammad Yousuf has already filed his nomination papers. Two independent candidates have also filed their nominations since the Election Commission issued notification for the third phase of polls on March 28.
"PDP candidate Mehbooba Mufti and NC candidate Justice (retired) Hasnain Masoodi filed their nomination papers in the office of the returning officer for Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency today," an election department official said.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ghulam Ahmad Mir is scheduled to file nomination papers as Congress candidate later in the day.
The last date for filing of nominations is April 4, while scrutiny of nominations will be held on April 5. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 8. Read More

Flag at half mast: India in 7-day state mourning for Pranab Mukherjee.

  National flags at Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament were at half-mast on Tuesday as the country observes a 7-day State mourning following the demise of former President Pranab Mukherjee . The state mourning is being observed throughout the country from August 31 to September 6 as a mark of respect to the former President, who passed away on Monday. "As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, seven days state mourning will be observed throughout India from August 31 to September 6, both days inclusive. During the period of state mourning, the national flag will fly at half-mast on all buildings throughout India, where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment," the Ministry of Home Affairs said in an official release. Mukherjee, 84, passed away on Monday at the Army Hospital (Research and Referral) Hospital where he was admitted earlier this month and had undergone surgery for removal of a clot in his brain. Samsung to launch Galaxy M30 with three rear cameras, 5000mAh battery today

South Korean electronics major Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy M30 on February 27 at 6 PM. The India-first smartphone will be the third device in the M-series . The other two Galaxy M20 (review) and the Galaxy M10 (review) were launched in January 2019. Some of the key features include a triple rear camera module, Infinity-U shaped notch screen, 5,000mAh battery, and the Exynos 7904 processor, according to Samsung.
