Apple releases public Beta version of iOS 14; to be launched with iPhone 12



Apple has released the public Beta version of iOS 14 that would be officially available in the fall with the new iPhone 12 series.
The public beta version, which has already created waves among the developers for revealing that tech companies like TikTok and LinkedIn were copying content from Apple user's clipboards, is generally full of bugs which the company fixes before the final release.
The most prominent change in iOS 14 is a redesigned screen.

India to test 100-yr-old vaccine on adults as war on Covid-19 hots up

Serum Institute’s recombinant BCG vaccine would be the first vaccine candidate in India to start human trials within the next two weeks. This is to test if the vaccine, administered at birth to Indians to fight tuberculosis, can also boost immunity in adults against the novel coronavirus. If all goes well, the vaccine, which has a proven safety track record, can be in the market by the end of this year. Serum Institute can make 300-400 million doses of this vaccine.   In Punjab, the age group 0-50 accounts for 73.7 per cent of the total state case load. The mortality rate among those infected in this age group, however, is 26.8 per cent. The age group 51-90 accounts for 26.3 per cent of infections but has a mortality rate of 72.4 per cent. Comorbidities, experts say, are the major reason driving the high fatality rate among the elderly. Till August 28, about 17 per cent of infections were noted in the age group 41-50, some 15 per cent for those aged 51-60, around eight per cent for the 61-70 group and only three per cent for 71-80.
