Himachal Pradesh under 10-day 'corona curfew' as infections surge

  The Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday announced a 10-day curfew across the state in light of the rapidly increasing COVID-19 cases . The curfew will remain in place from 6 am of May 7 to 6 am of May 17. All offices, except those of essential services, will remain closed. "There shall be a 'corona curfew' from 6 am of 7th May 2021 to 6 am of 17th May 2021. The curfew is primarily aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19 disease," the state government said. Entry to the state will be restricted and no one from outside will be permitted to enter without a negative RT-PCR report. Additionally, the state also canceled the Class 10 exams and said that all students would be promoted. The country is currently witnessing a devastating wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Night curfew in Delhi: AAP government releases detailed guidelines

  In view of rising Covid-19 cases , the Delhi government of Tuesday imposed a night curfew in the national capital from 10 pm to 5 am. The order will be imposed with immediate effect till April 30. However, the government said, "there will be no restrictions on traffic movement during the night curfew". "People who want to get Covid-19 vaccination will be exempted but will have to get an e-pass. Shopkeepers selling essential goods like groceries, fruits, vegetables, milk, and medicine will be allowed to move after getting an e-pass. Print and electronic media will also be allowed to move only through e-pass," the Delhi government's order stated. It further said that private doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff will also be allowed during curfew hours by showing a valid ID card. Read More

Covid-19: Section 144 imposed in Gautam Buddh Nagar till April 30

  Gautam Buddh Nagar Police imposed restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC between March 17-April 30 as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 in view of upcoming festivals. Dates of Holi, Good Friday, Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti, Navratri, Ambedkar Jayanti, Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, and Hanuman Jayanti will fall between March 17-April 30. Meanwhile, Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has issued orders under section 144 criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to prevent gatherings amid the COVID-19 pandemic and in view of the festivals ahead this month. As many as 28,903 new COVID-19 cases and 17,741 recoveries were reported in India in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry informed on Wednesday.With the addition of fresh infections, the total cases in the country reached 1,14,38,734, including 2,34,406 active cases and 1,10,45,284 recoveries. Coronavirus: 48-hr total shutdown in Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak from 8 pm today

Intensifying its battle against Covid-19 , the Odisha government announced a 48-hour total shutdown, akin to curfew, in the state capital Bhubaneswar and Bhadrak town from 8 pm on Friday, the state's top official said. All shops selling essential commodities will remain closed during the period, Chief Secretary A K Tripathy said. Only select medicine stores will be open. Of the five Covid-19 cases detected in Odisha so far, four are in Bhubaneswar and one in Bhadrak. Odisha's first Covid-19 patient, a 33-year-old Italy-returned researcher, was on Friday discharged from the hospital, having recovered from the viral infection, a state health department official said.
