Hyundai receives over 10,000 bookings for new Creta SUV in one week

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Wednesday said it has received over 10,000 bookings for its upcoming Creta SUV within a week of opening bookings. The new Creta will be launched in the market next week. It was unveiled at the Auto Expo last month. "We are receiving customer enquiries at various touch points across the country...," HMIL Director Sales, Marketing & Service Tarun Garg said in a statement. The new Creta has masculine and futuristic stance, smart technology, powerful performance, advanced connectivity, intuitive experience and enhanced comfort, he added. HMIL is offering the SUV in 1.5 litre petrol, 1.4 litre turbo charged petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engine options with manual and automatic transmission options. Read More

Hyundai plans to bring fuel cell cars to India, Nexo could be first launch

Korean auto major Hyundai is planning to bring fuel cell electric vehicles to India. The company has already started a feasibility study as part of the plan. Hyundai Nexo, which is already available in many markets, could be the first launch. The company claims Nexo is the world's first dedicated hydrogen-powered SUV and that it has a range of close to 380 miles, highest for any fuel-cell or electric vehicle in the market. Hyundai has finally relaunched the legendary Santro, its compact family car, which was discontinued in 2014 after sixteen years of successful run. Maruti's Dzire overtakes Alto as best selling PV model in July 2018

The premium hatchback was ranked second in the year-ago month with 19,153 units Maruti Suzuki India's (MSI) compact sedan Dzire became the best selling passenger vehicle (PV) model in July in India, overtaking entry-level small car Alto from the company's stable. According to the latest data from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Dzire occupied the top slot by selling 25,647 units in July as compared to 14,703 units in the same month a year ago, when it was the fifth best selling model. Alto, on the other hand, moved to the second spot with 23,371 units last month from the first position in the corresponding month last year, when it sold 26,009 units.
