Accenture leads final placements at IIM Calcutta, makes 24 job offers

After emerging as the top recruiter during the first cluster of final placements at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), Accenture now has made the highest number of offers at 24 at IIM Calcutta that wrapped the recruitment process for its 54th batch of flagship PGP of 2019. Following Accenture, were other reputed consulting firms such as AT Kearney, Bain & Co, The Boston Consulting Group, and McKinsey & Co, who made offers in double digits. Sector-wise, consulting sector led placements at IIM Calcutta with 29 per cent, up from 27 per cent last year, followed by finance at 21 per cent. On the other hand, while average cost-to-company (CTC) rose by 4.7 per cent to close at Rs 25.36 lakhs as compared to Rs 24.2 lakhs last year, median salary increased by six per cent to Rs 23.5 lakhs. NTA to conduct UGC NET 2019 exam from June 22; registration starts March 1

UGC NET 2019 : National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility Test (NET) in June 2019. Candidates who wish to pursue a career in academics can register online for the UGC-NET 2019 through NTA’s official website, nta.ac.in. The registration process for UGC NET 2019 exam will begin on March 1, 2019, and end on March 30. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the next UGC-NET for ‘Assistant Professor’ and for ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor both’ in June 2019. The test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will be of three-hour duration, each. CBSE Class 10 students can opt for an easier Maths exam from 2020: FAQs

The Central Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has introduced two levels of examination in Mathematics for ClassC 10 students in 2020 to cater to different kinds of learners. The nomenclature for the two examinations will be Mathematics - Standard, for the existing level of examination, and Mathematics - Basic, for the easier level, according to a circular issued by the CBSE. The present level and curriculum of the subject would continue to remain the same, it said. According to the National Curriculum Framework, not only would the two levels of examination cater to different kinds of learners and allow different levels of testing, they would also reduce overall student stress levels. "It is well known that students experience greatest stress before and during their most 'difficult' subject exam," the circular said. NEET 2018: SC scraps grace marks awarded to students who took exam in Tamil

The Supreme Court on Thursday quashed the Madras High Court directive to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to grant 196 grace marks to students who suffered from the erroneous Tamil translation of 49 questions in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ( NEET ) for undergraduate medical admissions. "The method adopted by the High Court is manifestly arbitrary and unjustified and cannot be sustained," the top court said in its judgement. The apex court observed that the court has made no attempt to see whether the students have in fact attempted answers to the questions, which were claimed to be imperfectly translated and has proceeded to award the full marks for 49 questions to all candidates who had opted to give the examination in Tamil.
