Google to shut down its mobile 'Shopping' app for iOS, Android in June

  Google has announced to shut down its mobile shopping app for both iOS and Android devices by June this year. The mobile shopping app will, however, be available on the desktop (web) version. It means that shopping.google.com website will remain active. The company confirmed the decision to 9to5Google on Sunday. "Within the next few weeks, we'll no longer be supporting the Shopping app. All of the functionality the app offered users is available on the Shopping tab," the company said in a statement. "We'll continue building features within the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the Google app, that make it easy for people to discover and shop for the products they love," it added. The mobile shopping app allowed users to choose from among thousands of online stores and make purchases using their Google accounts. Read More

Not the time to celebrate, says Google as it postpones Android 11 launch

Google has once again postponed the launch of Android 11 operating system’s first beta version. The delay could possibly be due to the on-going internal conflict in the US or due to the coronavirus crisis . However, Google did not specify the reason for the delay. “We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate. We are postponing the June 3rd event and beta release. We'll be back with more on Android 11, soon.” said Google in a blogpost. After unveiling in China, Xiaomi has announced its custom Android operating system-based skin MIUI 12 for global markets. The custom user interface is set to roll out in batches.
