  Thane has reported 205 new cases of coronavirus , raising the infection count in the Maharashtra district to 5,51,444, an official said on Wednesday. Besides these new cases recorded on Tuesday, the virus also claimed the lives of three more people, which pushed the death toll in the district to 11,289, he said. Maharashtra: Thane district adds 4,350 coronavirus cases, 18 patients die

  With the addition of 4,350 coronavirus cases , the infection count in Thane district of Maharashtra has mounted to 3,23,661, an official said on Friday. These new cases were reported on Thursday, he said. As 18 patients succumbed to the infection during the day, the death toll in the district rose to 6,510. The district's COVID-19 mortality rate is 1.99 per cent, he added. So far, 2,83,849 patients have recuperated from the infection and the recovery rate stands at 87.69 per cent. There are 33,302 active cases in the district at present, the official said.   The COVID-19 tally in Thane has reached 2,03,727 after detection of 1,101 new cases in the Maharashtra district, an official said on Thursday. The district also reported 16 more deaths due to COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking the toll to 5,145, he said. As of now, there are 12,698 active COVID-19 cases in the district, while 1,85,884 patients have recovered, he said. The COVID-19 recovery rate in Thane is 91.24 per cent, while the mortality rate stands at 2.53 per cent. Kalyan remains on top with the maximum number of COVID-19 cases at 48,568 followed by Thane city-44,565 and Navi Mumbai-42,879, he added. Maharashtra Covid update: 1,264 new cases in Thane, recovery rate over 90%

  The COVID-19 tally in Thane rose to 2,01,734 with the addition of 1,264 new cases, while seven civic limits of the Maharashtra district reported a recovery rate of over 90 per cent, an official said on Tuesday. The district also reported 29 deaths due to the viral infection on Monday, taking the toll to 5,100, he said. So far, Kalyan town has recorded the maximum number of COVID-19 cases at 48,106, followed by Thane city-44,093 and Navi Mumbai-42,417 he said. As of now, there are 13,404 active COVID-19 cases in the district, while 1,83,230 patients (90.83 per cent) have recovered, the official said. The COVID-19 recovery rate in Thane city was 90.24 per cent, Kalyan-92.58 per cent, Mira Bhayander-90.73 per cent, Navi Mumbai-91.46 per cent, Ulhasnagar-90.97 per cent, Ambernath-92.29 per cent, Badlapur-94.91 per cent, Bhiwandi- 88.70 per cent and Thane rural-83.95 per cent. Thane: 10 killed in Bhiwandi building collapse, rescue operation underway

  At least ten people were killed after a three-storey building collapsed in Patel Compound area here on Monday morning. The incident happened at around 3:40 am. Five people were also injured. The rescue operation by NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) is underway at the site of building collapse in Bhiwandi, Thane. According to the NDRF, the estimated number of people trapped at the site is between 25 to 30. This number may change as the rescue operation is in progress. "As many as 20 people were rescued by the locals," the NDRF had said earlier. Read More

  Thane district of Maharashtra added 1,796 new COVID-19 cases , taking it tally above the 1.50 lakh mark, an official said on Thursday. With these new cases, the district's COVID-19 tally stood at 1,51,236, he said. The death toll in the district rose to 4,009 with the addition of 26 fatalities, the official said. Maharashtra coronavirus update: Thane records 1,600 Covid cases; 34 deaths

  With the addition of 1,600 new cases of COVID-19 , the tally in Maharashtra's Thane district has reached 1,49,440, a district official said on Wednesday. Apart from the new cases recorded on Tuesday, the district also reported 34 casualties that took the COVID-19 toll to 3,983, the official said. Despite the steady rise in infections, the recovery rate in the district stands at 85.20 per cent and the count of discharged patients has reached 1,27,315, he said. Maharashtra farmers' protest: Thousands begin march from Thane to Mumbai

Demanding compensation for drought and the transfer of forest rights to tribals, thousands of farmers and tribals began a two-day march from Thane to Mumbai on Wednesday, eight months after a similar protest that started from Nashik. Magsaysay award winner Dr Rajendra Singh, also known as Waterman of India, is among the marchers. They started walking Wednesday afternoon and will reach the Somaiyya Ground in Mumbai's Sion area where they will halt for the night. They will reach Azad Maidan in south Mumbai early on Thursday and will try to hold a demonstration near Vidhan Bhawan, where the state legislature session is underway, a leader of the march said.
