Google online store adds new dedicated section for 'subscriptions'

Tech giant Google recently added a new section on its online store which gives all the information one needs about all the different subscriptions that the tech giant offers at one place. Mashable quoted a reported by XDA Developers stating that the navigation bar on the Google Store now features a Subscription landing page where users get all the deets and updates about its different offerings including YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, YouTube Music Premium, Stadia Pro, Google One, and Google Fi. The section features a short description of each service, which is followed by a "Learn more" link. If a user clicks on the link, they will be redirected to a signup page for that particular service. The new section on the Google online store is broken down as follows - Shows & Music: YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, YouTube Music Premium, Gaming: Stadia Pro, Google Play Pass, Storage & Security: Google One, Nest Aware, Phone Plan: Google Fi. Huawei AppGallery replaces Google Play Store on Honor 9X Pro: FAQs answered

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has announced the launch of Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), which will ship with the company’s upcoming Honor 9X Pro smartphone. In retrospective, the HMS is Huawei’s answer to Google Mobile Services (GMS), which the company is barred to use on its smartphones due to trade sanctions imposed by US president Donald Trump. The Honor 9X Pro will ship with Android platform but without GMS apps like the Play Store and the entire Google Apps suite. The Honor 9X Pro has AppGallery, which is part of HMS ecosystem. Though it may not have all the apps one gets on the Play Store, it is a growing platform that comes with fairly good number of apps. Gamers get new home on YouTube as Google retires standalone app: Know more

YouTube , a video sharing platform of search engine major Google, on September 18 announced plans to retire the YouTube standalone gaming app, therefore merging its feature with the main portal. Launched in 2015, the YouTube Gaming was a dedicated app for gamers community, allowing them to watch gaming content from publishers and developers, including livestreams. The YouTube Gaming app has been a home of gamers and creators to watch, share and explore gaming content. However, from March 2019, the standalone app will shut down, forcing gamers and creators on the platform to migrate to YouTube to continue watching, creating and exploring gaming content. The YouTube Gaming app was tested and upgraded with new features such as dedicated game pages for better discoverability, super chat and channel memberships to help fans show support for their favourite creators, dark theme and live streaming.   Read Complete Article  

Tez rebranded as GooglePay, platform to receive major push this Diwali

The tech giant has also re-branded ' Tez ' as 'Google Pay ' as part of its efforts to take the digital payments app to more online and retail merchants across the country. “Building for India has helped Google build for everyone all around the world... Our partnership with RailTel is an example where millions of people are accessing the Internet from hundreds of railway station in India.
