Covid-19 woes: IndiGo to discontinue on-board meal service, says CEO

India's largest airline IndiGo will fill its airport buses at 50 per cent capacity when service resumes. The airline will also discontinue on-board meal services, CEO Ronojoy Dutta told employees on Friday. These along with frequent deep cleaning of aircraft are part of the multiple changes that the airline will do its protocols in order to keep crew and passenger crew safe when the airline starts operating again. India had imposed a 21-day lockdown on 25 March — one of the most drastic measure any country has taken to control the outbreak of the coronavirus. SpiceJet announces 10-30% cut in March salary for all employees

Budget carrier SpiceJet has decided to cut 10-30 per cent salary of all its employees in March, with Chairman Ajay Singh opting for highest 30 per cent trimming in compensation, the airline said in an e-mail communication to the staff on Tuesday. "SpiceJet management has decided to implement a pay cut between 10-30 per cent in March across our employee base. Our Chairman and Managing Director (Ajay singh), in fact, has opted for the highest cut of 30 per cent in compensation," the airline said in the communication. Other budget carriers IndiGo and GoAir have already announced similar move earlier. Arnab heckling row: After IndiGo & Air India, SpiceJet suspends Kunal Kamra

SpiceJet on Wednesday suspended stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra from flying with it after he allegedly heckled journalist Arnab Goswami aboard an IndiGo Mumbai-Lucknow flight. SpiceJet is the third airline to take action against Kamra. While IndiGo suspended Kamra from flying with it for a period of six months on Tuesday itself, Air India banned him until further notice. Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had taken note of the incident on Tuesday and "advised" other airlines in India to impose similar restrictions on Kamra, stating "offensive behaviour designed to provoke & create disturbance inside an aircraft is absolutely unacceptable & endangers safety of air travellers". On Wednesday morning, SpiceJet said on Twitter, "SpiceJet has decided to suspend Mr. Kunal Kamra from flying with the airline till further notice." Holi bonanza: Indigo airlines offers 3-day special sale; know the details

IndiGo airlines Tuesday announced a three-day special Holi sale across its domestic and international network for travel between March 19 and September 28. "Effective March 05, 2019 till March 07, 2019, IndiGo is offering all-inclusive fare starting at Rs 899 across domestic and Rs 3,399 across international sectors. This sale is valid for travel between March 19, 2019 and September 28, 2019," the airline said in a statement. IndiGo is the largest airline in India with a share of around 40 per cent of passenger market. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo, said, "It has been very encouraging to see a rise in the number of passengers flying during holiday seasons and these special sales provide more options for customers to fly at affordable fares." IndiGo festive sale: Flights for as low as Rs 999! Bookings open from today

Budget carrier IndiGo on Monday announced all-inclusive discounted fares starting as low Rs 999. The sale fares will go on for four days, starting today, September 3. As part of this four-day special sale, the airline will also offer 1 million seats and this sale is valid for travel between September 18, 2018, and March 30, 2019. This offer is valid only on non-stop flights in various sectors across IndiGo’s domestic and international networks. The airline's website also states that the discounts are valid for bookings made during the 'Offer Period', at least 15 days prior to the date of departure, provided that the date of travel is no later than March 30, 2019. Apart from that, the carrier is also offering special offers on online transactions. Customers can avail of a 20 per cent MobiKwik super cash discount of up to Rs 600.
