Hindi mandatory till class 8? Minister denies any education policy tweak

K Kasturirangan committee on the New Education Policy (NEP) prepared a report and suggested a three-language formula with Hindi mandatory till Class 8, uniform syllabus for science and maths across the nation, development of a script in Devnagri for tribal dialects, and promotion of education based on skill, reported The Indian Express. The aim is to implement 'India-centric' and scientific learning system in schools. The committee handed over its report to the HRD ministry on December 31, 2018. A member of the committee told The Indian Express, “We have sought a meeting with the HRD Minister to hand over the report formally.” Speaking to The Indian Express, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said: “The committee’s report is ready and the members have sought an appointment. 'The Accidental Prime Minister' trailer will be out tomorrow!

The wait is over! The trailer of veteran actor Anupam Kher's 'The Accidental Prime Minister ' will be out on Thursday. Taking to his Twitter, the 'A Wednesday' star, who will be seen as former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the film, shared a video donning his look for the film. "Friends, you'll be happy to know that the trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister is coming to all of you tomorrow," he wrote. Based on the 2014 memoir of the same name, written by Manmohan Singh's media adviser Sanjay Baru, 'The Accidental Prime Minister' revolves around Singh's life, the economist and politician who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. It also features Arjun Mathur and Aahana Kumra as Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi, respectively. Tributes pour in for 'Iron Lady' Indira Gandhi on 34th death anniversary

Top political leaders on Wednesday paid homage to India's third prime minister Indira Gandhi to commemorate her 34th death anniversary. "Tributes to our former Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary ," tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Congress President Rahul Gandhi also took to the micro-blogging site to remember his grandmother "with a deep sense of happiness." "Remembering Dadi today with a deep sense of happiness. She taught me so much and gave me unending love. She gave so much of herself to her people. I am very proud of her," his tweet read.
