  GoPro has refreshed its Hero Black-series action camera line-up with the launch of Hero 9 Black . The action camera features a new imaging sensor capable of recording videos of up to 5K resolution. Besides, it can capture photos at 20-megapixel resolution, and boasts HyperSmooth 3.0 video stabilisation with in-camera horizon leveling, dual-display, and a big capacity battery. The camera has modular lens, and the Hero 9 Black is compatible with a newly announced Max Lens Mod accessory for Max HyperSmooth video stabilisation and Max SuperView ultra wide-angle photo and video. GoPro on Thursday announced a beta firmware update for its Hero8 Black to pull up a double job of an HD webcam. The action camera maker also made available desktop utility installation files, which helps complete the webcam set-up without any third-party accessories. However, the GoPro Webcam desktop utility is currently available for macOS users and the support for Windows operating system is in development. “With a quick camera firmware update and desktop utility installation, users can use their HERO8 Black camera as a 1080p HD webcam for more immersive video conferencing, wide-angle instructional classes and so on. GoPro on Tuesday launched its HERO8 Black and Max action cameras in India for Rs 36,500, and Rs 47,000, respectively. Both the devices are available for pre-order at GoPro.com beginning October 1. Shipments of HERO8 Black begin October 15 and it will be available at select retail partners globally starting October 20.
