JLR India opens booking for locally made Range Rover Velar at Rs 72.5 lakh



Jaguar Land Rover India (JLR) Tuesday said it has commenced bookings for locally manufactured Range Rover Velar which is priced at Rs 72.47 lakh (ex-showroom).
The model comes with both petrol and diesel powertrains, priced similarly at Rs 72.47 lakh.
We continue to focus on providing the best of British design, luxury and technology at highly competitive prices and we are sure that local manufacturing of the Range Rover Velar will make it even more desirable," JLR India President & Managing Director Rohit Suri said in a statement.
The local manufacturing of the model also reaffirms the company's commitment to the Indian market, he added.
Deliveries of the model will begin early next month.
JLR currently produces XE, XF, XJ,F-Pace, Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque locally. Read More

G7 pledges 870 mn Covid vaccine doses, half to be delivered by 2021-end

  Leaders of G7 countries have agreed in an agreement at their summit to share at least 870 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines directly, at least half of which are to be delivered by the end of 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Sunday. In a statement, the WHO said the G7 countries have reaffirmed their support for COVAX, a WHO-led international campaign for equitable access to Covid-19 vaccines globally, as "the primary route for providing vaccines to the poorest countries", Xinhua news agency reported. While welcoming the G7's commitment, COVAX partners have also called for their continued support for exporting the vaccines in significant proportions, promotion of voluntary licensing and not-for-profit global production.
